Write Your Most Effective Resume

Would you like to know how to create a resume that gets you to interview and helps you obtain an offer?

We’ve got you covered! Our approach is simple. Understand the business need and demonstrate how your experience resolves their need.

Before you begin writing your resume, it’s helpful to revisit your notes about what you want and why, along with your list of Target Companies and Target Opportunities, which you prepared in the previous lesson. Building upon the work you’ve already done, complete the Resume Planning Worksheet, then prepare a first draft of your resume. Use our Resume Review – Self-Audit Checklist to ensure your resume contains the essential elements of an effective resume. All tools are attached below and the audio course talks you through the use of each of these tools, step-by-step.

If you already have a resume template or formatting style that you like, you may use our tips to update the contents of your existing resume to help maximize its’ effectiveness. If you do not have an existing resume or template to update or use, our template is attached for your use.

We’ll also talk about the value of having your resume up to date whether you’re actively searching for a new opportunity or not.

When this lesson is complete, you should have a resume that you are proud of. Resumes can be extremely tough to create. If need help along the way, we’re here to help  you along.

Step 2: Begin by reading pages 33  – 55 in The Top Candidate Playbook and completing the exercises within
Step 3: Download and utilize the Resume Planning Worksheet, Resume Review Self-Audit Checklist, Resume Template (attached below)
Step 4: Prepare a first draft of your resume
Step 5: Run it through the Self-Audit Checklist assessment and make edits as needed until you are proud of your resume and comfortable sharing it
